Rob Friedman became the Co-Chairman and CEO of worldwide theatrical motion picture studio Summit Entertainment LLC in 2007. Mr. Friedman's career in the film business spans over 35 years where he has held top-level posts at several major studios and has been involved in the production and marketing of some of the industries most notable properties.

Mr. Friedman started his career in 1970 in the mailroom at Warner Bros. Studios and in the subsequent nineteen years he held many posts ultimately rising to the become the studio's President of Worldwide Advertising and Publicity. While at Warner Bros. he was directly responsible for the release of over 180 movies including such blockbusters as SUPERMAN, BATMAN, BATMAN RETURNS, ACE VENTURA as well as his first three Academy Award®-winning Best Pictures, CHARIOTS OF FIRE, UNFORGIVEN, and DRIVING MISS DAISY. Mr. Friedman was also involved in integrating the companies involved in the Time/Warner merger and subsequent acquisition of Turner Broadcasting.

In 1997, Mr. Friedman moved to Paramount Pictures as Vice Chairman of the Paramount Motion Pictures Group. In 2000 he also added the role Chief Operating Officer, ultimately overseeing seven divisions. He created the studio's specialty film division then known as Paramount Classics and prepared the studio to capitalize on the rapidly growing DVD marketplace. Mr. Friedman also served on the Boards of Directors of UIP, the joint international distribution venture between Paramount and Universal Studios, and Movie Link, one of the internet's first legal film download to view sites.

Mr. Friedman is on the Board of Directors of the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation and the Board of Governors for the Southern California Special Olympics. He also holds a seat on the Board of Directors of the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games. Mr. Friedman is also an active supporter of the Salvation Army and Hearts of L.A.
