DAKOTA FANNING JOINS CAST OF SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT'S THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON
Los Angeles, CA March 9, 2009 — Summit Entertainment has confirmed today that Dakota Fanning will play the role of Jane in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON. Fanning will star opposite Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner in the film directed by Chris Weitz. Erik Feig, Summit's President of Production, stated, "Dakota Fanning is one of the most talented actresses of her generation and we are thrilled that she will be a part of the TWILIGHT saga." In THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON, which will be released domestically November 20, 2009, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) is devastated by the abrupt departure of her vampire love, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) but her spirit is rekindled by her growing friendship with the irresistible Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner). Suddenly she finds herself drawn into the world of the werewolves, ancestral enemies of the vampires, and finds her loyalties tested. The action-packed, modern day vampire love story and blockbuster success of the first film in the series entitled TWILIGHT was released in theatres on November 21, 2008 grossing $69.6 million domestically during its first weekend. To date the film has grossed nearly $375 million worldwide. TWILIGHT will be released on DVD, Blu-ray and VOD Saturday, March 21, 2009. From 10pm until 12 midnight on March 20th, Summit Home Entertainment will provide TWILIGHT fans across the country with the chance to celebrate the midnight DVD release of the film. Fanning recently starred in Summit Entertainment's PUSH and voiced the role of Coraline Jones in the animated feature CORALINE.
