SUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT NAMES ALEX FRAGEN PRESIDENT OF DOMESTIC TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION
Los Angeles, CA June 20, 2007 — Burgeoning filmed entertainment studio, Summit Entertainment, has named television veteran Alex Fragen as the company's new President, Domestic Television Distribution. Fragen will oversee the studio's distribution efforts for free and pay television, video-on-demand, pay-per-view, and hotel and airline sales across the domestic television marketplace. Fragen will also be involved in developing the new media distribution strategy for Summit's Home Entertainment division. Bob Hayward, Chief Operating Officer, Summit Entertainment, to whom Fragen will report, made the announcement today. "Alex has a tremendous track record in the television arena and it is a real win for our studio that he is joining us for this important position," stated Hayward. "As consumer viewing habits continue to evolve on television and via the internet, Summit will look to Alex to put us in business with the right partners to maximize viewership and the financial returns on our films." Fragen added, "Summit is perfectly positioned to take advantage of all of the opportunities that are now available in both the traditional and new media channels. With a tremendous track record of International distribution expertise, I am excited to have the opportunity to lead the studio's transition into the domestic marketplace. Fragen comes to Summit from Paramount Pictures where he served as Senior Vice President, Domestic Television Distribution. At Paramount Fragen managed a P&L of approximately $650 million and was responsible for all aspects of television distribution for the Paramount Pictures library in the United States and Canada. Directly prior to this role, Fragen worked in the Domestic Pay Television department of Paramount Pictures holding the titles of Senior Vice President and Vice President for the Ancillary Market Group. During this time Fragen created the business to consumer marketing division for the VOD and PPV group, increasing annual revenues in this area by 50% in two years. In addition, he rebuilt the Ancillary Market Group which led to the group exceeding revenue goals by 15%. Fragen began his 14 year tenure at Paramount Pictures in the Domestic Television department where he held the positions of Account Executive of Cable Sales, Director of Cable Sales, Executive Director of Cable Sales and Feature Film Planning and Senior Analyst, Television Research. Before Paramount, Fragen worked as an Analyst for investment bank, Putnam Lovell, Inc., in the research group at Petry Television and began his career at NBC with the Television Stations Group in sales planning and market analysis.
